Algoma District - Sault Ste Marie

Tourists from all over the globe, especially North America and Europe, head for Northern Ontario's Algoma District to ride the Algoma Central Railway's world-famous tour train. With hundreds of miles of hiking, ski and snowmobile trails, the Algoma District is a magnet for wilderness adventurers.

The Algoma District borders the District of Thunder Bay and the United State's Michigan on the west. Bordering the east is the District of Sudbury and on the northern border is the district of Cochrane. Algoma District also known for its extensive water front on Lakes Superior and Huron along its western and southern boundaries.

Marie has long been a vital hub of transportation and commerce - there is great potential for the city's future in its growing tourism sector.
  • Sault Ste Marie is situated 560 Kilometers (350 miles) north of Detroit and 684 Kilometers (480 miles) from Toronto.
