Approximately two hours to the north from Toronto this district includes the world renowned 30,000 islands along the shores of spectacular Georgian Bay. This area is also famous its inspiring sunsets, clear lakes and beautiful provincial camp grounds.  

The Parry Sound District borders the District of Sudbury to its north, Nipissing District (including Algonquin Park) to its east and the District of Muskoka is to the south. The District has extensive waterfront and borders the eastern shores of Georgian Bay.

The town of Parry Sound (Population 6,000) is the largest community within the district and is its urban and commercial hub – the community is located on a deep, well protected international port that attracts cruise ships from abroad. Parry Sound is situated 560 Kilometers (350 miles) from Detroit and 225 Kilometers (140 miles) north from Toronto.

Communities located within the Parry Sound district include Sundridge, Magnetawan, Rosseau, Orrville, Mckellar, Dunchurch, Bing Inlet, Port Loring, Restoule and Point au Baril.
